In more than one word: “Small Size.-NOUNS 1. littleness, smallness, smallishness, dimunitiveness, slightness, exiguity; puniness… minuteness; undersize; petiteness; dapperness; shortness… 2. infinistesimalness, microdimensions… intangibility, impalpability, imperceptibilty, invisibility.”*
The thing about smallness is that it’s entirely underrated. Just because something is so small that you don’t notice it or passes by so quickly that you pay no attention to it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have an effect on your life or the world. It doesn’t mean that it couldn’t have more of an impact on you if you just stopped to notice it. Science is evidence of that. The big things wouldn’t exist if not for the small things that make them. From the microscopic creatures in our food to invisible forces between atoms, they all make a difference and with personality, temperament, happiness and joy too, sometimes the small things aren’t so small after all.
Why does this blog exist?
Because I’d like to make an effort to take notice of at least one thing every day that makes me realise something good about the world or people – and share it.
